MV Agusta Brutale 800 Reviews

Overdrive

Okay, for those who have been living under a rock and haven't spent their lives drooling over the motorcycles that MV Agusta makes (wait, was that just me?), the Brutale 800 is the naked cousin of the F3 800. Before you ask, the F3 800 is the bigger brother of the F3 675 and the younger brother of the F4. That would also mean that the Brutale 800 is the middle child in the family that is made up of the Brutale 675, the Brutale 1090 and evil twin, Brutale 800 Dragster. Confused enough?

I've been a forever fan of MV Agusta. It all started when I was given a scale model of Agostini's race-bike. I was four-years-old back then. The red-and-silver motorcycle maker became my favourite. And it remains so till now. But I need to confess something I hadn't ridden an MV before this day. That love for the brand stems from just how beautiful these things look, and the passion invested by every artisan who works on them. I've watched documentaries, and read numerous articles. Italy is home to many iconic, unparalleled, motorcycle brands Ducati, Aprilia, Bimota, Benelli, Moto Guzzi, among others and each of them is about undying passion and exquisite work. All of them are equal and, yet, some are more equal than others. And that's where MV Agusta has been able to carve out a niche for itself.

It’s official. Kinetic Group has just announced its plans to bring MV Agusta superbikes to India with the first launch set for November 2015. The company will offer bikes powered by 800cc to 1078cc engines, with prices starting at Rs. 12 lakhs, going up to Rs. 33 lakhs for the flagship F4 model. The Pune based Kinetic Group will set up a dealership network to retail MV Agusta bikes across the country. It will also support after-sales operations, making it very peaceful for people to buy MV Agusta bikes in the Indian sub-continent.

Although late to the party, MV Agusta isn’t very late either considering its Italian peer, Ducati just re-entered the Indian market a couple of months back. The launch of bikes from the MV Agusta stable will be in a phased manner, thus not all products will go on sale immediately. Instead, the complete line-up will be brought to India in the next three years. The bikes will be brought down via the CBU route while some of them will also be locally assembled using the semi-knocked down method (SKD).

What began as Agusta Aviation company back in 1923, was converted into a motorcycle manufacturing company by the end of second world war. Founded by Giovanni Agusta back in February 1945, MV Agusta today is a world renowned motorcycle manufacturer.

Built around a racing philosophy, MV Agusta founders’ sole purpose to manufacture and sell bikes was to fulfill their passion in motorcycle racing. It is due to this reason, every motorcycle made under the MV Agusta name is a racing bike first and a motorcycle later.
